Betty & Evan's
50th Wedding Anniversary
On Nov. 9, 1997, Betty and Evan Erlandson reached their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on that date in 1947, in the old RLDS Church on Smith & Third in Spokane, Washington. Evan likes to point out that the altar where they stood is now about 20 feet under the eastbound lane of the I-90 freeway.
A number of loving relatives and friends worked together to organize and produce a memorable anniversary reception for the two lovebirds at the Audubon Terrace RLDS branch on Nov. 16, 1997. Included in that group were Leslie and Boyd Wood; Della & Ed Binder, Jack and Phyllis Erlandson and Jim and Kathy Erlandson, who co-hosted. Several members of the church congregation provided assistance in setting up the lower auditorium and in the preparation and serving of refreshments. About 100 people attended.
