Hi to all from Tim Luscher

Just joined the web site and wanted to give everyone a cheery Season's Greetings.  Mae Bressler Luscher is my mom - Lucille Mikesell Bressler was my grandma. I have many memories of visiting Aunt Mae, Aunt Libby and Uncle Ern in Spokane.   I grew up in Salmo B.C. and we made numerous visits to them and stayed with them once in awhile. One thing that I will always remember is the procelain face of Christ that Aunt Mae had hanging on the wall in her living room. No matter where you were in the room it always seemed the he was watching. Aunt Mae always told me that is the way that it always will be - he is always watching. That happened when I was a small boy but I have never forgotten it. Thanks for all your work Leslie and others.

I'm back

I'm entered under my own e-mail address so now I can respond to your websight.  Sorry, I was able to read the messages but forgot my password and name so it would't let me write.  It wouldn't let me sign up again under a new name because I was already signed up.  Mike helped me sign up now.  Talked to mom and Dad tonight they said they had a nice visit with Bev the other day, they sure enjoyed seeing her and Chris.  I hope your family reuion went well.  Hope it wasn't too hot? I thought I would see something about it on the web but I guess I'm a little early, just anxious I guess. I love the pictures of your farm Aunt Leslie.  Now a little about my family.  Grant my youngest just turned 3 yesterday.  We had a party outside with four of his young friends.  He had a great time.  Michelle is 5 and starting kindergarten in 8 days.  She will ride the schoolbus which she is looking forward to.  Me too.  She will be gone all day, from 8 till 3.  Someone else will be entertaining her and cleaning up her messes during that time. She will do fine, she is very social and energetic hopefully she will be tired when she comes home.  Mike does a lot a traveling, gone for the week then home for the weekend.  He doesn't like it but it is part of the job now.  Me I'm trying to sell Home Interiors.  It gets me out of the house and I get to socialize with people, which I like to do.  I don't have a scanner or anything like that so I can't send pictures, but will keep in touch.  Love Anita Cooper

Welcome, Audrey is our 12th member.

Dear Family,
We send a warm welcome to Audrey Dean, our newest "family fun" member.  Audrey is the wife of Aaron Dean who is the son of Ken & Terry and grandson of Lynn & LaRaine.  Audrey & Aaron have 2 daughters & live in Alaska.  She was at our 1995 reunion with Ken & Terry.
We now have 12 members!  We're growing slowly but Audrey is the first of the
Dean clan to join so we have hope that others of the Dean & Allen family will join.  We
would love to see photos of their life in Alaska and older family photos & info they would like to share. I plan to add more Allen/Dean info & photos as soon as I can.  We are in the middle of haying season so I have been busy answering the phone from people wanting hay.  I've also been working on another "angel bear", this one for the family picnic raffle.
I've been to two birthday parties lately.  Big sis Della turned 70 and her kids gave her a celebration at a park.  Lots of love there.  Then our grandson Rylee
turned seven and David gave him a party at a pizza place.  Lots of noise there. With
birthdays the same day as Rylee's were sis Betty and sis-in-law Wilma Mikesell.  Hope they all had a good day.  Family, please leave a message when you can to let us all
know how you're doing. If you have any problems adding to these pages, email me at

AGAIN-HAPPY JULY BIRTHDAYS

A BEARLY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Happy Birthday America

Hello everyone!

The 4th of July is just a couple of days away so I thought I would let you know about the Mirus Familly summer.

Mitch is finishing up his coaching season for Ryan's high school hockey team.  It's a good thing he will be done in a couple of weeks since work at REI is picking up again.  The hockey team is in 2nd place right now.  We have a playoff game tonight and if we win the championship game is July 14.  We were invited to play against the deaf olympic team a couple of weeks ago and Mitch ended up in the emergency room at the end of the  game.  One of the players lost control of his stick and it flew over the bench and hit Mitch in the face.  He was unconsious for 45 seconds so they called the ambulance and made him go to the hospital.  He is fine and it just looked like he cut himself shaving.  Anyway the freak accident took our minds off our loss of the game.

Amy is working three jobs this summer to make money for her fall term.  She will be spending her fall term in Asia.  She leaves for Japan on August 29th and will take classes as well as sight see in Japan, Taiwan, China including Hong Kong, and then spend a few days in Hawaii before coming home for Thanksgiving.  She is really excited about the trip.  I'm not sure how I will do without seeing her for 3 months.

Ryan is playing hockey for his high school and also for two mens league teams.  He builds houses with Meticulus Builders during the day and plays hockey at night.  He still manages to see his friends too.

Melissa got her drivers license and is out and about with her friends.  She picked up some job applications but has yet to fill them out.  She is attending a church camp in Michigan for a week and is looking forward to that.  She went last year and made new friends that she is excited about seeing again.

I am spending most of my time in the garden.  It takes me over an hour to water all the flowers.  But I enjoy the color in the yard.  Keeping track of everyones schedules and laundry also keep me busy.  In my free time I enjoy reading and crocheting.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! We will be enjoying Batavia's fireworks as we do every year.  Take care and send a message.

Love you all, Jan

Like our new look?

Hi family,
Hope you like our new look and can add your input easier.  If you have any problems please e-mail me at genigrandma@hotmail.com
Boyd has been busy as usual, got a bad cut on his hand and believe it or not
he went to the doctor.  It's healed fine now.
We found out Rylee has the family allergies when he swelled up with
mosquito (did I spell that right?) bites.  The doctor gave him a shot, but we
have to spray him now before he goes out.  The misquitoes are really bad
here. School will soon be out so we hope warmer weather will help.
I'm busy getting some things cleared out to give to Bev's yard sale.  I
amazing how our possessions multiply.  We have a big house but too little room
left.
Thelma, Cynthia Kalkwarf's obit was in the paper Saturday.  She was 90
years old.  Della & I talked about her & Hank & their little grocery store on
Fifth & Lacy. Lot's of memories there.  Phyllis has 7 children and lives in
Sequim, WA.  I wondered what had happened to her. Henry "Hank" died in 1971.
Sure would love to hear from all the family.  I  will try to keep this site
going even though very few family want to participate.  I'm tired of begging.
I'm having a little trouble so I hope this letter comes out o.k.  I love you all,
 Leslie

Who knows ???? Do you????

Hey Everyone!!!!
I hope everyone is doing well.  We are busy as usual ( like a lot of you).  Well, I will be a Mother-In-Law in a few months.  I finally will have a daughter (Michelle).  My oldest son Bryan (will be 25 - on Sept. 4th) will be getting married in Los Angeles on August 3rd.  I am so excited!!!!!  We have decided that we will go down to the event even if we have to sell everything in our house. (We may need to, with gas prices down there sky rocketing.)  Chris and I are bound and determined to get there some way.  We are going to have at least one yard sale this summer, if not more.  Anyone (here in Spokane) that wants to donate any junk -- feel free to do so.  Any way, Bryan has put in for a transfer to San Diego because he and Michelle would like to live close to her parents house.  Michelle is an only child, and someday will be going for her degrees in Psychology.  Bryan wants to get his doctorate in Electrical Engineering eventually.  Bryan will complete his tour with the Navy (8 years) in October of 2002.  We would also like to take a side trip on the way back (if possible) to Reno to see Thelma & Wayne (Ginny, Reid & kids too) because we haven't seen them in awhile.  We will have our own accommodations taken care of though.    I might also get to see a good friend of mine who I met many many years ago when she used to babysit my brother Mike's kids.  Cheryl and I have kept in touch throughout the years, and I haven't seen her since 1974.  She said that she could meet me in California, so I hope everything goes OK.  We have never met each other's kids either, and our kids are close to being full grown.  Any way, I keep praying that everything will turn out positive as far as the whole trip goes. By the way, here is Bryan's email address if you would like to send he and Michelle a congratulatory note.  Make sure you describe who you are because the old man might not remember who anyone is after being in the Navy -- tee hee hee.  BakerBE@cs.com
I am also trying to keep up with my youngest son Chris who will be 15-- October 23rd.  He is more into activities than his brother was at that same age.  Chris is still highly involved in his youth group (Impact Youth Ministries), and does well as a youth leader.  Right now Chris is playing school baseball, practicing for an AAU Basketball tournament coming up in less than two weeks, and practicing with his three man team for Spokane's annual Hoopfest competition this summer.  Chris also went on a retreat with his youth group this last weekend.  Chris will also start umpiring baseball games here soon to earn some money for the trip.  Chris also gets to attend a Ferris High School camp for football this summer because some parents involved with this are helping him to be able to go.  In between running Chris around, and helping Jeanne out (She and the boys are still living with us at this time)I like to go visit Mom every other day, if not more sometimes.  I enjoy talking to Mom and going places with her.  I also have tried to spend time with Naomi as well, helping her with what ever she needs.  Sometimes it is hard to catch Naomi because she is extremely busy, but I have found a way to snag her.  It usually happens on Wednesday after she gets off work at 9:00 AM because she works over by where I drop my nephew Andy (Jeanne's youngest) off at school. I surely enjoy the time spent with Naomi because we sure don't get to see her vey often. All my prayers are with everyone all the time.  I better run get some more work done.  I won an digital camera last year that I need to figure out how to use first, then I will put some pictures on this site as well.  Take care ya all, and write some updates -- they are great to read.
Love,
Bev

Wayne, I've found OWYHEE heaven just for you!

Hi Winters, I'v found a website you'll  ,  it's called "Buckaroos in Paradise". I don't remember if I sent you something about it before, but I just saw it & it's great. It's an on-line museum of northern Nevada, eastern Oregon & some Idaho ranches; cowboys; cattle; etc. & 233 old photos listed in photo index. Click on the photos to enlarge. I got all excited when I saw "stone house ranch" but it was a different one. I thought I saw Wayne in several round-up photos but I guess cowboys look alike. There's videos & audios too, of old cowboy interviews.

I bet they'd love to have your photos of the stone house & horses and those old newspaper stories of the Winters cowboys. I was on the website over an hour before Boyd made me quit to eat. It's on my "favorites" list so I'll go back when I have more time. Let me know here or e-mail me when you see it or if you've already seen it.

http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/ncrhtml/crhome.html

We're doing fine except Rylee had both eyes operated on last Wednesday & they over corrected them.  He's seeing double now & wearing glasses & a patch. They might have to operate again but David hates to see him suffer. Rylee was allergic to something & itched all over expecially his eyes. Poor little guy.

Early HAPPY BIRTHDAY THELMA. There's a birthday card in the message below for all our April birthdays. Hope you all had a good Easter. We were at Sheryls with Betty & Evan, had a delicious dinner & great day. Rylee lost his first tooth there & we found out that the tooth fairy now brings $5 with an extra $1 on special days like Easter. Inflation!

I've added a few more photos, family recipes & more Kids Corner items to this webpage, take a look.    LUV you guys. Bye for now, Leslie

Letter to all the gang.

Hi family,
If David stops sending me instant messages from work I will get this written & wish you all a great Easter  I tried to get a card on here like smarty pants Sheryl but I wasn't smart enough. Tried for half a day.
Boyd is between well-drilling jobs, Rylee home for Spring vacation so while they're at the store I thought I would drop you all a note.
I have canceled my long-distance phone service because they made me mad.
So if you want news from the Wood family, you'll have to look here.  I'll miss those Sunday telephone visits with Thelma.
We're all well and busy.  I'm still scanning photo's to my web page and adding genealogy.  Boyd is doing Spring clean-up of  the yard, garden & barn.  Rylee's got glasses {when he leaves them on}and has his eyes operated on in two weeks. It's out-patient surjury.  He will miss a couple of days of 1st grade.   I'd better close for now as I've run out of news but would love to hear from all of you, Whats Up?    Leslie

Welcome Thelma, Wayne & Jim Erlandson!

Thelma & Wayne have joined the family fun gang!  Since they wrote their message on the member's profile page I'll copy it here so all can see it.  They are going by the name "Lucky Lady".  "lucky that i have reid to help me get this first note on here!  wayne & I want to be part of the gang.  Hope to here from all of you soon."

Jim Erlandson hasn't signed up to be a member yet, but he did leave a message. You can read it by going to message below this & read reply # 2.

We're sure glad to hear from them, and hope to see more input from the members.  Sheryl has added to the "Kid's Corner".  I'm going to add a family recipe page and an OOPS! page.  Guess what that will be about.  We need some ideas from you!

I am busy adding to my Allen family history this week.  Hope you all have looked at my genealogy web page by now.  Betty & Evan brought me lots of old photos to add to our history, so I'm busy scanning them.  Rylee has Spring Vacation next week so I will spend a lot of time with him.  Please take a few minutes & let us know what's up in your life.

All the gang are assistant managers of this site.

Hi family --- To make it easier for all the family to add to this family home page, I've made you all assistant managers.  Any new members will be made assistants also. Let me know if it's still not easy to add your input.  Sheryl's going to add a page about our family picnic soon.  Hope everyone has seen our family history web page, I'm working hard on it.  Click on to Recommendations [on your left] then click Links & you can get there.  Come on guys, let's hear from you, please.     Leslie

5th try to get message here

Hi gang, David's still working on my computer but I thought I'd try again to get a message on.  Wish I new if you-all are having the problems I am, or if you just don't try.  I sure got excited when I saw the new members, but we've had no activity lately.  When I get my computer all fixed, I'm going to jazz up this home page, just to see what I can do.  Please add some photo's, recipes, favorites, messages or chats to our family home page.  I'll quit for now until I see if this finally gets on.    Leslie

Hi Aunt Leslie & all :-)

Hi Aunt Leslie,
What a great site you have here!  It is  really great to read everyone's letters here.  This was such a great idea Aunt Leslie -- THANK YOU
We are still really busy here with  the household  consisting of 6 people so far.  There is never a dull moment.  Bryan (who will be 25 in Sept.) is getting married around August 3rd in San Diego.  He has put in for a transfer with the Navy because he and Michelle want to live there.  She is an only child and would like to live closer to her family.  Bryan is in the process of going to school on the base -- he wants to get his doctorate in Electrical Engineering.  His fiance Michelle will be working towards her doctorate in Psychology.  Chris is still 14, and as big of a sports nut as he has always been.  He starts high school  in September.
He is also highly involved with his youth group, of which he is a youth leader.  It is almost midnight here, so I better hit the hay.  Hi to everyone out there -- it is so nice to read your letters.  I hope one of these years we can have a huge reunion where everyone will be able to attend.  Good night & take care all.
Love,
Bev

Illinois family says Hello

Hello everyone!

This is a great idea.  I'm not much of a phone person or letter writer so this is wonderful for keeping in touch with family.  We at the Mirus house are all doing well.  Amy is a sophmore at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL.  She is at the moment majoring in chemistry and pre-med.  Ryan is a Jr. in high school and playing hockey on the varsity team.  He is also playing on a mens hockey team late at night.  Melissa is a sophmore in high school and is now in drivers ed.  I have only been out driving with her once.  I guess I'm like my mom, Thelma.  Mitch is still with the refrigeration company and is also the assistant coach of Ryan's hockey team.  I am at home  doing all the at home mom things.  Would love to hear from everyone.

love, Jan

Doing a great job Aunt Leslie

Hello All,
You are doing a great job so far Aunt Leslie.  I think you are going to have a ball with this, and the rest of us are going to have fun joining you.  I am really excited about all of this.

This email address that you see with this is my hotmail address.  I used it so I wouldn't have to come up with a new passport for this site.

I have been truly busy with my new job at Sunshine Gardens Nursing Home.  I love it there, the people are really great to work for and with.  I am also looking for a house to move into on the Northside close to Andy's school.  I am also keeping my eye open for a new hard drive, or new PC as this one is dying a slow death.  Hopefully Jim can help me out there.  He has been working on it, but not as steady as I would like him to.

Anyway, keep up the great work, and GREAT JOB to Uncle Boyd on the jam!   It is Yummy!! Take care all.  Love to you,  Jeanne

Hello from Sheryl

o Hi, this message is from Sheryl Emerick.  I hope that everyone who reads this is doing well.  I have been forced from the comport of my couch to do this message.  I have been a couch potato for the last week or so as I have had knee surgery and am not getting around very well.  Please encourage my mother with adding pictures and messages as she is very excited about this.  Take Care, Sheryl & Family

Boyd's been busy.

Hi gang, It's quiet & cold here on the old farm with everyone else gone.  We got 3 new inches of snow last night.  Boyd made more strawberry/rubarb jam yesterday.  Last week he made current & elderberry jelly along with his strawberry/rubarb jam.  All by himself!  This afternoon I'll help Rylee write names on his valentines for school & help him with his 1st grade homework.  Busy, Busy. I want to hear from ALL of you. Love, Leslie.
