I hope everyone is doing well. We are busy as usual ( like a lot of you). Well, I will be a Mother-In-Law in a few months. I finally will have a daughter (Michelle). My oldest son Bryan (will be 25 - on Sept. 4th) will be getting married in Los Angeles on August 3rd. I am so excited!!!!! We have decided that we will go down to the event even if we have to sell everything in our house. (We may need to, with gas prices down there sky rocketing.) Chris and I are bound and determined to get there some way. We are going to have at least one yard sale this summer, if not more. Anyone (here in Spokane) that wants to donate any junk -- feel free to do so. Any way, Bryan has put in for a transfer to San Diego because he and Michelle would like to live close to her parents house. Michelle is an only child, and someday will be going for her degrees in Psychology. Bryan wants to get his doctorate in Electrical Engineering eventually. Bryan will complete his tour with the Navy (8 years) in October of 2002. We would also like to take a side trip on the way back (if possible) to Reno to see Thelma & Wayne (Ginny, Reid & kids too) because we haven't seen them in awhile. We will have our own accommodations taken care of though. I might also get to see a good friend of mine who I met many many years ago when she used to babysit my brother Mike's kids. Cheryl and I have kept in touch throughout the years, and I haven't seen her since 1974. She said that she could meet me in California, so I hope everything goes OK. We have never met each other's kids either, and our kids are close to being full grown. Any way, I keep praying that everything will turn out positive as far as the whole trip goes. By the way, here is Bryan's email address if you would like to send he and Michelle a congratulatory note. Make sure you describe who you are because the old man might not remember who anyone is after being in the Navy -- tee hee hee. BakerBE@cs.com
I am also trying to keep up with my youngest son Chris who will be 15-- October 23rd. He is more into activities than his brother was at that same age. Chris is still highly involved in his youth group (Impact Youth Ministries), and does well as a youth leader. Right now Chris is playing school baseball, practicing for an AAU Basketball tournament coming up in less than two weeks, and practicing with his three man team for Spokane's annual Hoopfest competition this summer. Chris also went on a retreat with his youth group this last weekend. Chris will also start umpiring baseball games here soon to earn some money for the trip. Chris also gets to attend a Ferris High School camp for football this summer because some parents involved with this are helping him to be able to go. In between running Chris around, and helping Jeanne out (She and the boys are still living with us at this time)I like to go visit Mom every other day, if not more sometimes. I enjoy talking to Mom and going places with her. I also have tried to spend time with Naomi as well, helping her with what ever she needs. Sometimes it is hard to catch Naomi because she is extremely busy, but I have found a way to snag her. It usually happens on Wednesday after she gets off work at 9:00 AM because she works over by where I drop my nephew Andy (Jeanne's youngest) off at school. I surely enjoy the time spent with Naomi because we sure don't get to see her vey often. All my prayers are with everyone all the time. I better run get some more work done. I won an digital camera last year that I need to figure out how to use first, then I will put some pictures on this site as well. Take care ya all, and write some updates -- they are great to read.
Love,
Bev
