Happy New Year

1 comment:

  1. Boy, I sure had fun at 1st night Spokane last night. It was a full day for both of us.
The day started with church. Scott & I have to leave early on Sundays to pick up a couple of people before 8. He drives the church van, and choir practice starts at 8:30.
After church a large group of us went out for breakfast. After that, Scott said goodbye to us. He had a 2:30 rehearsal at home for the "Abbott & Costello" program they did at Willow Springs in Cheney last night.
I took off to hang out with a couple of friends for the day. We had a technical rehearsal at 2:30 at Lewis & Clark High School and then went to their house to visit, where I kept trying not to fall asleep on their couch. We scoured the paper to get our plan of attack for the night, then headed downtown. We watched the puppet show and visited
with people on the street and then headed to the school where we watched a couple of concerts before we had to take the stage.
Our program was a lot of fun. I have to say that we did a great job. It's always hard to tell when you're on stage - but I watched the directors face as we were finishing up and he looked pleased.
When we were done we went back to the streets and watched a juggling comedy show. We took the bus to the Masonic Temple and watched the Celtic dancers. By the time we got back to the car it was midnight and the fireworks were starting.
We left then to miss the traffic jams. We hadn't eaten anything since noon so we all headed to Denney's for a final harrah before they dropped me off at my house. All in all it was a fun day.

Scott hasn't talked about his program much so I don't have any details, other then he told me that the audience seemed to enjoy them and the owner of the place asked them to come back any time they want. He did say later that it was pretty lame. Oh, the show went well, but there was hardly anyone there. They did 3 Abbott & Costello skits and it was over quickly. Hardly worth the work involved and the drive to Cheney.
I think he was a little bummed that it was the 2nd holiday we spent apart this year, and that colored his attitude of how much he enjoyed what he was doing.

How were your New Years celebrations?

    Gerri
