Hi gang, Burrrrrrrrr!!!!! January has been crazy here! Monday we had a high of -1 degree & a low of -22 degrees. Boyd was kept busy thawing out pipes for people that forgot how to weatherproof their pipes. Now that it's warming up we have a foot of snow on the ground & it's snowing. The weatherman says that it will snow for 3 more days. I did a lot of baking, roasting, etc., trying to keep the house warm with the help of the oven. Good thing the electicity stayed on. Hope the old oil furnace doesn't give out this winter. We're still selling hay, good thing horse people will drive thru a storm to keep their horses in hay. By the way, Betty is doing good at St. Joseph's nursing home. Evan sees her everyday, even when it's cold & stormy. What's the weather like where you are at? Let us know here by clicking "reply".
Love
Leslie
I can understand how people could forget how to weatherproof their houses. It's been a few years since we've had a real winter around Spokane. And BOY was it ever cold. It got to -7 in my neighborhood a few days ago, and warmed up to 38 today. That's a lot of difference in temperature. Frozen pipes brings me to a story about a friend of mine. Amaura is 4 years old. Yesterday she came upstairs to inform her mother that there was water in the basement and that she had tried to clean it up but wasn't able to get it all. Jill went down into her basement to find about 6" deep water, with a little rag in the middle of the room trying to sop it all up.
ReplyDeleteDoes your brother live in Bellingham? My son is in his second year of college at WWU in Bellingham. He just loves it over there.
ReplyDeleteJaime, we read about all Portland's troubles in the paper. What a winter! Tell Mike that our thoughts & prayers are with him. We miss seeing you guys. Jim E. just recovered from bi-pass surgery, what's up with all these young guys? Too much stress? Keep in touch. Love Leslie
ReplyDeleteHi, actually Mike lives in Mt. Vernon, but he had his surgery in Bellingham as there is a good surgeon that does bypass surgery without putting the patient on the heart/lung bypass pump. He also has a son at WWU. His son's name is Colin Wahl and he is a freshman. By the way, Mike is doing great, hopes to go home tomorrow. Modern medicine sure works miracles. Jaime
