Wilma Mikesell passed away today in Oregon City, Oregon. She was surrounded by her family as she gave up on a long and painful struggle following her surgery. Despite the fact that the cancer was gone, she could not recover her strength and made the decision this morning to not allow further support for her breathing. She was born on July 24, 1927 and lived a successful and productive life as a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a handmaiden for the Lord in her own way, and called on the elders of the Church for love and support during the last few months. She will be remembered at a memorial service this week at the Community of Christ, Woodburn, Oregon congregation. She was very thankful for all the prayers by family and friends. Her daughter, Jaime Musgrove.
Dearest Jaime, Thank you so much for letting us know about your mother's death. Wilma will be much missed. We have many good memories of wonderful times with your parents. I was thinking yesterday about our huckleberry picking trips together. We send our love & prayers to you, Mike, Mona and all of Wilma's beautiful family. Please keep in touch. Much Love, Aunt Leslie
