anymore. Please reply to another of our messages or make a new one by going to the

2002:

Hi Family, please relive our visits on our front porch.  I copied your replies to our "Front Porch"

page, and deleted them here.  Go to the bottom of our Home page for a link to our  Front

Porch conversations, or click here.

We had short tidbits of conversation just as if you were actually sitting on our front porch.  We enjoyed ourselves, sitting there rocking back & forth, drinking our coffee , waiting for the others to join us.

[Also go to the bottom of this thread for some comments that didn't get onto "Our Front Porch", sorry.]

  18. Scott makes his debut at ComedySportz in Spokane this weekend. On Saturday, May 24, he will run the sound and play the part of "Mr. Voice".  Even though he's not on stage, Mr Voice is still a pretty visable position.  It's a family show, which means that I would not hesitate to bring my 7 year old nephew to watch the show.  I tell you, there are some nights that I've laughed until my face hurt. You can make your reservations at www.spocomedy.com

  19. I'm just poping in to let you know I am on the site.  We sure all had a nice evening with the cousins and all the rest of the family that got together at the Golden Coral  Wed, night.  Thanks to Evan's generosity.  I hope Boyd had a nice Birthday thursday. I am slowly finding some of the things on my  computor again.  Leslie, Thanks for your patience.  Hello to everyone out there on the site.  We are pretty excited that Mike's sister Jennie Walsh and her Dad located us through Leslie's site and met for the first time last week in California.  Very pleasing for all concerned. Well I guess I'll go for now.  Love to you all,  Della Ann

  20. Hi Della Ann.  I'm going through the same thing of trying to find things on my computer again.  Scott fixed something on the computer, and in the process he loaded a totally new operating system on.  It's not that much different, but it is enough difference to notice.  Several of my programs are missing, so I have to reload as I run across something that isn't there anymore. I finally left my computer for a couple of hours this afternoon to do some yard work.  I'm starting to get excited about getting my yard into shape.  If you knew me, you'd understand what a feat that is for me.  My iris's are in bloom so I have tons of pretty purple in front of my house.  My peonies will be blooming before the week is out so I'll have more flowers on either side of the porch.  The one I'm really excited about though is my baby pear tree.  The first year I had it, there was one pear on it, and someone (who shall remain nameless) crashed the lawnmower carelessly against the tree right as the pear was starting to get ready to pick, crashing it to the ground. I didn't notice it until it was too late to salvage.   The next year there were 2 pears. Last year there were three.  This year there are tons.. at least 15 on the tree.  It's strange for me to be this excited about a goofy tree, because I'm not at all good at yard care.

  24. * kicking off my shoes              *shlumping down onto the steps                       *accepting a glass of Iced Tea from Leslie "Thank's for the tea" I say to Leslie *I close my eyes... only to be nudged in the rump by my mommas foot... "Wake Up!" Mom says, with loving concern.  "Rough day again?" *I close my eyes again, trying to determine how much I want to say.  I have spent nearly every day for over a month making sure that some uncensored word doesn't escape my lips accidently while I'm on the phone with a customer.  "Can I have your number and call you back? My computer is down" has become a phrase that I have memorized.  I do not stray from that phrase.  I try not to use discriptors, like "my STUPID" computer, or "GRRR! Gimme your number!!!"  I start my conversation with the comment: "A customer asked me why my eye was bloodshot this afternoon."  Both of them look at me and notice that indeed one eye is very bloodshot.  "Before I had a chance to comment, Al told him that my eye was bloodshot because my head had exploded."  I laugh at the memory of how my day had gone.  What else can you do?  A smile crosses my lips and I don't realize that I am laughing until Leslie speaks... "We thought you'd fallen asleep again Honey." "Nah, just thinking about how good this tea is."  I reply.  It was good, too.    "One of the computers had a virus.  My LAN administrator is out on vacation so I got to work with the computers and get them up and running again."  I truth, I had expected something like this.  Mark works for the City doing computer networking and he came home last night with horror stories about this virus and how his day had gone.  When I walked into the office this morning, my phone was ringing.  A call from corporate headquarters. He called to talk me through installing the patch to make sure we were alright. "The funny thing about today is that only the men were affected by the virus."  There is actually a logical reason for that.  The women are running an older operating system that is not affected.  But it was so much more fun to point out that the men were the ones causing the problems. "I spent 6 hours today working on the comptuers.  I could have been on vacation all day and gotten more work done." I realize that I am whining again, so I take another large gulp of my iced tea and close my eyes.  It feels so good to rest my head on the side of the house and relax.  I'm starting to feel my stress slip away.  "How are you enjoying your summers"? I ask.  "Are you handling the heat alright?  Are you doing a lot of swimming at the lake?"
