ReplyDeleteI just found an old note written on a 1959 Mother's Day card to Mary (Schilling) [Wood] Dunn from her daughter-in-law Leslie (Mikesell) Wood, Lonnie's mother. [excerpt]:
ReplyDelete"Dear Mom, We're hoping everyone is well. Except for the flu, we've been pretty healthy. Lonnie has been walking since March 1st and he can really get around now. He climbs up everything he can reach, and pulls all the pots & pans out of the cupboard & plays for hours with them. He knows several words and greets everyone with"Hi Sweetheart". He's not afraid of strangers and wants everyone to take him. Then he just kisses them like old friends. We're having a regular party for his first birthday Wednesday. I'll try to send some pictures if they turn out good."
