Welcome, Audrey is our 12th member.

Dear Family,
We send a warm welcome to Audrey Dean, our newest "family fun" member.  Audrey is the wife of Aaron Dean who is the son of Ken & Terry and grandson of Lynn & LaRaine.  Audrey & Aaron have 2 daughters & live in Alaska.  She was at our 1995 reunion with Ken & Terry.
We now have 12 members!  We're growing slowly but Audrey is the first of the
Dean clan to join so we have hope that others of the Dean & Allen family will join.  We
would love to see photos of their life in Alaska and older family photos & info they would like to share. I plan to add more Allen/Dean info & photos as soon as I can.  We are in the middle of haying season so I have been busy answering the phone from people wanting hay.  I've also been working on another "angel bear", this one for the family picnic raffle.
I've been to two birthday parties lately.  Big sis Della turned 70 and her kids gave her a celebration at a park.  Lots of love there.  Then our grandson Rylee
turned seven and David gave him a party at a pizza place.  Lots of noise there. With
birthdays the same day as Rylee's were sis Betty and sis-in-law Wilma Mikesell.  Hope they all had a good day.  Family, please leave a message when you can to let us all
know how you're doing. If you have any problems adding to these pages, email me at
genigrandma@hotmail.com    Love, Leslie

Happy Birthday America

Hello everyone!

The 4th of July is just a couple of days away so I thought I would let you know about the Mirus Familly summer.

Mitch is finishing up his coaching season for Ryan's high school hockey team.  It's a good thing he will be done in a couple of weeks since work at REI is picking up again.  The hockey team is in 2nd place right now.  We have a playoff game tonight and if we win the championship game is July 14.  We were invited to play against the deaf olympic team a couple of weeks ago and Mitch ended up in the emergency room at the end of the  game.  One of the players lost control of his stick and it flew over the bench and hit Mitch in the face.  He was unconsious for 45 seconds so they called the ambulance and made him go to the hospital.  He is fine and it just looked like he cut himself shaving.  Anyway the freak accident took our minds off our loss of the game.

Amy is working three jobs this summer to make money for her fall term.  She will be spending her fall term in Asia.  She leaves for Japan on August 29th and will take classes as well as sight see in Japan, Taiwan, China including Hong Kong, and then spend a few days in Hawaii before coming home for Thanksgiving.  She is really excited about the trip.  I'm not sure how I will do without seeing her for 3 months.

Ryan is playing hockey for his high school and also for two mens league teams.  He builds houses with Meticulus Builders during the day and plays hockey at night.  He still manages to see his friends too.

Melissa got her drivers license and is out and about with her friends.  She picked up some job applications but has yet to fill them out.  She is attending a church camp in Michigan for a week and is looking forward to that.  She went last year and made new friends that she is excited about seeing again.

I am spending most of my time in the garden.  It takes me over an hour to water all the flowers.  But I enjoy the color in the yard.  Keeping track of everyones schedules and laundry also keep me busy.  In my free time I enjoy reading and crocheting.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! We will be enjoying Batavia's fireworks as we do every year.  Take care and send a message.

Love you all, Jan
